Before updating to Cursor 2.0+, I had access to a lot more commands using the @ in chat. I really relied on being able to access previous chats as that was a command available that would summarize a previous chat to provide context.
Did Cursor remove that command in 2.0? And why? I primarily use the Editor view in Cursor but at this point I want to go back to v1 so that I can actually use Cursor productively
You are absolutely right, and I just verified this myself on the latest build.
It seems the specific /summarize command (along with many others) has been removed from the standard chat interface in +v2.0. The prompt to ‘Create Command’ appearing when you type / suggests that Cursor now interprets slash-commands primarily as triggers for generating terminal scripts or custom commands, rather than internal chat utilities.
Currently, the only workaround is to ask for it in natural language (e.g., ‘Summarize our conversation so far’).
Thank you. This works well for summarizing the current chat. My post was more referring to the fact that you could no longer access previous chats from a new one, but I see they have added it back in on the current version
I’m more upset at how quick they are to remove really good existing functionality without communicating alternatives to the users
