When cursor is writing a plan, it keeps stealing my cursor while i type another prompt

Feature request for product/service

Cursor IDE

Describe the request

  1. I start a plan - and prompt it accordingly. and the planning “markdown writing” starts
  2. and at the same time, i’m writing a new prompt
  3. then i experience the cursor-stealing, i.e. suddenly my cursor, that i was using to write a new prompt, is bumped into markdown editor and i’m suddenly typing there
  4. then i click back to the prompt, which i shouldn’t need to have to do, and then it steals it back to the plan markdown editor again
can we make it so that while the plan is being written, i can safely and securely be writing to the prompt to create a new agent? thanks!

Operating System (if it applies)

MacOS

in fact, the same situation appears, in an even more interrupting fashion, when i try to use “Search Agents…” - every time the Plan updates or writes more, the popup for Search Agents, vanishes. so i was clicking on Search Agents… multiple times to try and search something while plan was being updated. then i eventually gave up and waited for the Plan to finish.

this kind of “hostile” writing, with the attitude of “lay off me human, i’m writing stuff, hands off!”, is not good UX.

i hope someone’s listening.

Cursor is stealing cursor

additionally, while cursor is writing a plan, it is impossible to make a selection in the chat, copy, and paste it to a new prompt chat message. would be nice if this was less “move cursor, by force, to Plan being written by cursor”, and more user friendly instead.
