When I use Grok 4.5 in Cursor, does it consume my API usage quota or the First-party models pool (Auto / Composer 2.5 / Grok 4.5)
Thanks for any clarification!

Hey, thanks for the question. Grok 4.5 in Cursor pulls from the First-Party Models pool, the same pool as Auto and Composer 2.5. It used to be called Auto + Composer. It does not use your API usage quota. That separate bucket is only for BYOK and usage-based on-demand.
The pool is spent by each model’s per-token rate, not 1:1 per request. Grok 4.5 standard costs more per token than Composer 2.5 standard, but less than Composer 2.5 Fast. Note this is specifically about the standard variant. Grok 4.5 Fast is more expensive.

Bonus: the included Grok 4.5 quota is doubled, 50% off, until July 15, 2026.
