Hello!
Is the usage supposed to be under “API” or “Auto + Composer” usage bucket?
I currently see it under the API bucket.
Thank you

Hi @Johnny_Lee1 Thank you for the forum post! Cursor Grok 4.5 usage draws from the Auto + Composer Usage Pool bucket. Note, the Auto + Composer Pool has been renamed today to the First Party Models pool, of which Cursor Grok 4.5 is a part of.
@Johnny_Lee1 There was a brief period today during the launch where Cursor Grok 4.5 usage was attributed to the API pool, that has now been fixed so usage pulls from the First Party Model pool.
This is awesome. it’s like a whole new token pool of frontier power. Thanks for including it in first party models. Should definitely alleviate some burn with fable/opus/5.5 overuse.
Thanks Michael! We appeciate you and we’re excited to see what you build with the new Cursor Grok model. I’ve absolutely stoked, it’s super powerful!
Is Grok 4.5 usage in First Party Models pool equivalent to composer 2.5? or Grok 4.5 fills this pool faster than composer 2.5?
Hi @Epsilon123 — great question.
Grok 4.5 and Composer 2.5 both draw from the same First-party models pool, but usage is not 1:1 by token count. That pool is consumed at each model’s token rates, so the same amount of work can use the pool at different speeds depending on which model (and which speed tier) you pick.
At a high level:
You can see the current rates here: Models & Pricing | Cursor Docs
Also worth noting: Grok 4.5 included usage is doubled through July 15, 2026. (a.k.a. 50% off)
Hi, Can you double check if it is really fixed. We are using the enterprise plan. My team members still see Grok 4.5 still draws from API pools instead from the First Party Models pool.
Any updates?
Hi @KhanhDo Thanks for the post!
Your token-based Enterprise plan uses one shared committed usage amount rather than separate First-party and API allowances. Grok 4.5 is still treated as a first-party model and is exempt from Cursor Token Rate, but its usage draws from that shared Enterprise commitment.
My account still charged from API usage for Grok 4.5. Please check it and resolve it.
Also, how can we check which request was charged from which pool?
