Why am I seeing a "Plan ends" warning a year in advance?

I’m currently seeing a persistent warning banner in my chat interface that says: “Your plan ends on February 19, 2027. Resubscribe to keep using Cursor.” Since my plan doesn’t expire for another year, I was wondering why this notification is appearing so early. Is this a known UI bug, or is there a specific reason it shows up this far in advance?

It takes up a bit of vertical space in the chat box, so I’d love to know if there is a way to dismiss it until the expiration date is actually getting close.

Cursor currently shows the notice whenever your plan has a fixed end date on file, even if it’s a year from now. The only way it typically disappears is if auto-renew is enabled or the subscription no longer has a scheduled end date. As of now, there isn’t a built-in way to dismiss that banner permanently.

I see, it would be great if the team ships this annoyance to be dismissable or set in settings. Currently its very dsitracting to use.

hi @Kyzer just to confirm, I assume you have cancelled the annual plan after purchasing it, is that correct?

Yes correct. I understand the purpose of that notice but it would be great if it is dimmissible.

I canceled for a reason, and not being able to dismiss this upgrade prompt only reinforces that decision. For a product focused on great UX, this persistent upsell feels misaligned and unnecessarily frustrating!

This seems a bit much. I’ll flag this for the team.

I mean even if it’s only for a month, it should still be dismissible permanently because it’s kind of annoying having it sit in the chat the whole time.
