Why can't I set the output language of Cursor to Simplified Chinese anymore?

I could set Simplified Chinese as the output language in older versions of Cursor. But after updating to the new version, I can no longer find the relevant setting option.

The dedicated language setting from older versions was folded into User Rules. You can set your preferred AI response language like this:

  1. Open Cursor Settings (gear icon or Ctrl+,)

  2. Go to Rules > User Rules

  3. Add a rule like: Always respond in Simplified Chinese (简体中文). Never switch to other languages unless explicitly asked.

That rule applies globally across all your projects. More on User Rules: Rules
