Why cursor auto model is using GPT5? super slow

Why i am getting GPT5 when I select auto model? it keep showing Planning next moves so I know. auto model is much faster too

Steps to Reproduce

just choose auto model and run

auto model!!!

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

hi @V_0 and thank you for your report.

Auto mode selects the best model from the premium selection based on the task provided and availability of models at the time.

For more complex tasks they would be larger models like GPT-5, Sonnet 4 and for simpler tasks smaller models.
