When I reattach it to side panel I can type.
You’re right. Thank you for the report!
Came to post the same thing. This is SUPER frustrating. I have 3 monitors and put Cursor Chat on the 3rd ready to chat away without disturbing the rest of my workflow. But sadly; no ability to type.
Oops, it’s been a while. Editing existing messages works, but writing a new one doesn’t Looking into it! Thanks for the reminder.
same issue here. just subscribed and i instantly fell in love, but this issue is really painful to make use of it comfortably…
hope we can get a fix for it rather sooner than later
having the same issue. my current workaround is to click the “@ Mention” button which allows me to type again.
it’s definitely still not a great workaround cause what’s also weird is that whatever you start typing after that, can’t be deleted until you type even more, and sometimes you can’t delete the first letter if you try to delete everything.
Same problem on macOS. Thanks @Jakob for looking into it!
Same problem on Windows 10 and Ubuntu22.04.
Same issue on linux (debian 11 and 12). Cursor 0.42.2. I confirm that it affects the new messages only, not the follow ups of a chat already started from the side panel.
Currently, this isn’t working.
