Worktrees in Agents Window

New in Cursor! · Full changelog · Main announcement

Worktrees are now natively supported in the Agents Window!

Worktrees let Cursor run isolated tasks in the background across different branches. Each branch can progress independently, so you can explore or implement multiple changes without mixing work together.

When you’re ready to test changes, move any branch into your local foreground with one click.

We’d love your feedback!

  • How are you using worktrees to manage parallel agent tasks?
  • What would make the Agents Window worktree experience clearer or faster?

If you’ve found a bug, please post it in Bug Reports instead, so we can track and address it properly, but also feel free to drop a link to it in this thread for visibility.

When are you bringing back worktree support in the editor UI’s agent sidebar? It was silently dropped and nerfed to skill(s) which wastes time and tokens. I very much enjoyed the workflow I had there where I could spin up a worktree from any branch with 2 clicks. Now I have to invoke skills and HOPE they work + there’s no one-click apply anymore.

Hopefully the use of worktrees functionality on remote SSH hosts will be supported
