"Your message is too long. Please try again" Getting this issue consistently

:white_check_mark: Check the forum: I have checked the forum (please replace this with your actual check).

:lady_beetle: Provide a clear description of the bug: When using the Cursor prompt to generate a Notion document, I receive the error “Your message is too long. Please try again with a shorter message and fewer/smaller attached items,” even with short prompts and no attachments and same issue even in new directory

:counterclockwise_arrows_button: Explain how to reproduce the bug (if known):

  1. Open Cursor.
  2. Use the following prompt (or a similarly short prompt): “Utilize Notion to perform a complete search of the project’s codebase. Your objectives are to: Identify all completed components and pending work. Generate a detailed status report that outlines: Completed tasks, Pending actions, Discrepancies or areas that require additional attention. Link this report directly to the documentation files (e.g., instructions.md and list.md) within Notion for easy access.”
  3. Observe the error message. I have tried removing all context from the prompt and still received the error.

:laptop: Tell us your operating system and your Cursor version (e.g., Windows, 0.x.x): Windows 11, Cursor v0.48.7 (1d623c4cc1d3bb6e0fe4f1d5434b47b958b05870), x64

:prohibited: Tell us if the issue stops you from using Cursor: Yes, this issue prevents me from using Cursor completely

Hey, it seems that you provide a lot of input data. I understand that this is necessary in rare cases, but I try to keep tasks short, ideally one chat for one task, without overloading the context where it’s not needed. Also, check if your MCP servers are enabled, you can disable some of them that are not currently required.
