Describe the Bug

I am encountering an issue where I am unable to connect via SSH through the Cursor app on my Windows machine. After attempting to connect, I receive the following error message:
“Your request has been blocked as our system has detected suspicious activity from your account.”

This issue has persisted and I am unable to use either my local Windows machine or the remote server anymore, with the same error appearing on both.

Steps to Reproduce

Launch the Cursor application on Windows.

Try to connect to the remote server via SSH.

Encounter the error: “Your request has been blocked as our system has detected suspicious activity from your account.”

The issue persists even after restarting the Cursor app and the remote server.

Expected Behavior

I should be able to connect to my remote server without encountering the error. The system should allow me to establish a secure connection after entering the credentials.

Does this stop you from using Cursor

Yes - Cursor is unusable

Hey, thanks for the report. The “Your request has been blocked” error usually means Cursor’s anti‑fraud system triggered - it happens when suspicious activity is detected to prevent abuse of the free trial.

For now, try:

  • Disable VPN or proxy if enabled (IP changes often trigger blocks).
  • Open a new project window Ctrl+Shift+N and try the request there - this can reset state.
  • If you use SSH, check that logs aren’t flooded with connection errors (can look like anomalous activity).
  • Try signing in via Google or GitHub OAuth instead of email - this bypasses some checks.
  • If nothing helps, wait a few hours and try again.

The anti‑fraud system can be a bit aggressive at times, but Cursor is tuning it continuously.
