2.0 Am I stuck with chat left, sidebar right? Nope!

After 2.0 update the chat window moved to left and the Primary Sidebar is right.

I don’t see a view setting to change it back to Primary Sidebar left/chat right.
Not able to drag/drop panels.

Am I missing something or did Cursor just decide this for me?

I’ve been a “list left” guy for 25 years…now I have to view my folder/file tree on the right?
If yes, that’s FUBAR.

Am I just missing the panel layout settings?

YES I was missing. Click Editor.

killing me. can’t get the freaking ai out of my face. maybe it’s not cool to want to actually right code any more. i feel old. thought helpful assistants were there when you need them and otherwise stayed out of your way. if cursor team doesn’t feel this way i need to find a new ide or whatever your product people call this thing.

while i’m at it - if i get one more update now window covering my temrinal etc output at the bottom of the screen i’m gonna be even more sad. omigod please - don’t remind me every minute and stay out of the way of my work. seems basic for a TOOL.

omigod. view → appearance → show custom title bar reveals toggle between agents and editor. never knew it was there. clicking editor gets my back to a more traditional ide view. i didn’t change that any time recently so while possibly a user error situation, the 2.0 upgrade clearly introduced something that triggered this agent-on-left view that i felt stuck in. not good.

@fpmb I don’t have this in “view → appearance”, maybe you’re using an extension or something?? I changed the json setting “workbench.sideBar.location” from left to right, quitting cursor and reloading it again and again, still nothing. bug or what?

I have view → appearance, but not show custom title bar.

@martinratinaud is more than annoying…it’s disruptive.

When new UI stuff gets pushed out I try to not get my knickers in a twist and generally try to give things an honest try…but seriously…I HATE it when developers “fix” things that are not broken.

Click Editor to flip back.

Yeah I found out about this button after but it was not obvious where it was

God bless you

While in the Editor mode (not the Agent) mode you can go to view > apearance > Move primary bar to the left

This however seems incorrect because the setting: workbench.sideBar.location is set to LEFT in my settings which means it should have been left by default
