Cursor V2 reorganized my workspace structure? Why?

Hello there.

Why the heck Cursor in version 2.0 rethought the basic UI structure and placed chat panel to the left, and Primary Side Bar to the right?!

In 99% of IDEs, the primary sidebar with the file hierarchy is on the left. Why did you decide to move it to the right?
Was this change made just for a ‘fresh look’ in your new version?

Why decide for your users how they should work?
We have established habits—don’t you think?
If you make such changes, at least provide an option to switch it back!

hi @varik94 you can still have the same behavior as before. Switch from Agent to Editor view.

The Agent view is often chosen by users as it allows better focus on working with AI and reduces clutter.

At same time other users still prefer the IDE view (Editor) and it’s still there.

We had them in separate windows for a while but now merged into one. Also the onboarding guide may have offered Agent view after 2.0 upgrade.
