Describe the request
The ability for the agent to rename the chat session. This way I can allow my rules to inform the agent when to rename it, add starting tags like ‘Fix - xxxx’ etc or when using Linear, and asking for a list of todo cards ends up with a chat called ‘XX issues in Linear’, even tho we worked on one or two.
Agent said: ‘Unfortunately, I don’t have any tool or capability to rename Cursor chat sessions programmatically – there’s no API or MCP action for that. The chat title is set automatically by Cursor based on the initial message content, and I can’t change it after the fact.’
