Additional Free Usage

Hi ,

I would like to better understand how the additional free usage is calculated before on-demand usage starts being billed.

Specifically, could you clarify:

How is the additional free usage amount determined?
Is it based on plan type, billing cycle, past usage, or another calculation?

At what exact point does on-demand usage start kicking in?
Is there a way to see the remaining additional free usage before on-demand billing begins?

I want to make sure I understand how usage is counted so I can avoid unexpected charges.

Thank you,

The “Free Usage” column in the dashboard is bonus usage Cursor provides on top of your plan’s $20/seat/month included limit. A few specifics:

How it’s determined: The bonus amount comes from agreements with model providers. It’s not a fixed number - it can vary month to month and isn’t published as a guaranteed figure.

When on-demand starts: Usage draws down in order: Included ($20/seat) → Bonus (free) → On-demand. On-demand only kicks in once both your included and bonus usage are fully exhausted for that billing cycle.

Visibility: There’s no separate “remaining bonus” meter. You can track your total usage at cursor.com/dashboard under the Usage tab.
