Hey, thanks for the report. This is usually a temporary connectivity issue with our agent services. “Agent Status Unavailable” means Cursor can’t connect to the backend that powers agent mode, so it falls back to basic ask mode.
Try these steps:
Check your internet connection is stable
Fully restart Cursor
If you’re on a corporate network, make sure firewall or proxy settings aren’t blocking Cursor
Agent mode requires a stable connection to our servers, so any network hiccups can cause this behavior.
You can also try running the network diagnostics in Cursor settings.
