This is about allowing highlighted text to access “add to chat”, mainly from extensions.

Examples:

  • Using Claude Code Extension, highlighting text and “add to chat” (for example Combine Claude code with Codex as a reviewer)
  • Markdown render extensions (even open preview natively doesn’t allow it)
