Bug - Increase Limits for faster Responses Changing Keeps popping up and cannot dismiss

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

The Increase Limits for faster responses appears every call I make even though when I check the website I have limits disabled and am only 76% of my Pro+ plan.

It keeps reverting me to auto instead of gpt5.3 codex and I fear it may be doing it mid agent run which if so would give me garbage results in comparison.

I can change my model back to gpt 5.3, but it revert back to Auto right after the next call, possibly mid call, please fix this, so annoying and possibly functionality breaking. I found this was occurring because I kept reverting my command and sending another, thus it kept popping up. Shouldn’t even appear as I don’t have limits…

Steps to Reproduce

No idea, because I have no limits, I suppose approach 76% usage on Pro+ plan.

Expected Behavior

This should not even appear, I don’t have limits set.

I just upgraded to Pro cause I was getting this! So did I upgrade for nothing?

I was having the same issue for the last few hours but it just started working again. Will update if the issue comes back.

Same!!

Hey, thanks for the report. It looks like this was a temporary issue on our side. @Vitta mentioned it went away on its own after a few hours.

Can you check if the pop-up is still showing up? If it’s gone, it was likely a short backend outage. The model switching back to Auto is probably related too. If the system mistakenly thinks you hit a limit, it can downgrade the selected model.

If the issue is still happening, try signing out and signing back in (Cursor Settings > Sign Out, then sign in again). This should create a new session and resync your plan status.

Let me know if it doesn’t go away.

It has since gone away, glad you were able to fix it.
