Bug Report: Cursor Fails to Install Extensions When Importing Profile

Description

When importing a .code-profile file in Cursor (versions 0.44.12 and later), the extensions fail to install, and the import process is canceled entirely. This makes it impossible to restore the profile correctly.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Export a .code-profile file from Cursor.
  2. Import the profile into any Cursor version newer than 0.44.12.
  3. The extensions fail to install, and the import process is canceled.

Expected Behavior

  • The profile should be imported successfully.
  • All extensions should be installed automatically as per the exported profile.

Actual Behavior

  • The import fails, preventing extensions from being installed.
  • The process stops unexpectedly, leaving the profile incomplete.

System Information

  • OS: Windows 10 22H2
  • Cursor Version: 0.44.12 and newer

Impact

:red_circle: This issue prevents users from restoring their previous setup, making it difficult to switch between environments or migrate configurations.

I also have the same problem. :((

I also have the same problem. :((

still have the same prb…

It used to work before (at least up until December 2024).
With new installation (ver. 0.48.6) on my new notebook, importing my old Cursor IDE profile fails while installing the extensions.

This is so annoying. I want to try out cursor, but I cannot import my VS code profile and I cannot be bothered to set up everything manually again.
