Guys i found the solution, go to (FAQ Page) and enter your edu mail to this section. This will help you to continue for discount.

@musisma - FAQ page just redirects me to the same page and no billing discount :confused:

I applied for Cursor’s 1-year Pro plan for students, and my application was accepted via email. However, when I clicked “Apply Discount,” it redirected me to the Stripe payment page, where I didn’t see any discount option—it still showed a charge of $20/month instead of the free plan.

Has anyone else faced this issue, or does anyone know how to fix this?

It sends you an email to apply discount. But the opened page goes to the same stripe with $20/month page. Did you actually get the discount this way?

Exactly the same. Had my normal account, continued the registration with student email, got verified, got redirected to pay. : /

Same issue for me. I tried to pay, thinking that the discount will now get applied. But got charged. Just requested for a refund

Yes, I used a credit card with a $1 limit for security purposes and there are no fees.

Cursor support team emailed me back. They are aware of the issues related to the student discount and working on a fix. Think everyone just needs to sit back and wait now.

I still had to pay the full amount even though I was logged in with my university email, which I verified earlier using Sheerid!

same problem. and also why can’t we add a second email address to our own account? I logged in with github, so I had to create a new account

What Cursor support told for me was:

Unfortunately, once a student email has been used in the verification process, even if unsuccessful, it cannot be reset or transferred between accounts. Each student email can only be used once for verification, regardless of the outcome.

While I understand this is frustrating, we’re unable to unlink or reset the SheerID verification. You can still use Cursor’s free Hobby plan which includes many great features.

I was logged in with my GitHub account when I submitted my university email, but the discount didn’t appear on the Stripe payment page.

To reproduce:

  1. Log in to company email, like outlook.
  2. Check the login email is company one, verify the student account on the website (NO explicit warning shows I MUST login in with school email here).
  3. Verification successful (I have NOT signed up with school email).
  4. Go to school email, click ‘Apply Discount’.
  5. Redirect to the subscription dashboard with company email logined, No Discount option shown.

What I tried next:

  1. Sign up with the school email.
  2. Click the ‘Apply Discount’.
  3. Still Redirect to the subscription dashboard with SCHOOL email logined, No Discount option shown.
  4. Try to subscript 1-year PRO.
  5. Got charged, and I refunded.
