Cannot create custom mode

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

I’ve created 5 custom modes, and now there is no “Add Custom Mode” option at the bottom of the mode selector dropdown. The “Add Custom Mode” option appears for ~2 seconds after I reload the window but then disappears.

If you are capping the number of custom modes, this approach of just not showing the “Add Custom Mode” option is a very frustrating UI decision, given that it appears to the user as a bug.

Why would you cap the number of modes?

Steps to Reproduce

Create 5 custom modes in the Cursor IDE

Expected Behavior

I want to create >5 custom modes

Operating System

MacOS

Does this stop you from using Cursor

Sometimes - I can sometimes use Cursor

Hey, yes, there’s a limit on custom modes. Along with the existing modes, there can be a total of 8. But we might create an option to set the number of modes.
