I entered the API key in cursor Settints > Models > OpenAI API Key and validated it.
After validating the API key, the o1-mini and o1-preview models disappeared.
The price of o1-preview is 40 cents per request, which is too expensive, so I want to use the API Key directly.
Our openAI API level is tier3.
In this topic Invoice for o1-preview requests but my OpenAI API is still not enabled to use o1
it says that we should be tier 3.
Our tier is 3.
Is o1-preview not available with an API key?
Hey, you can manually add these models in Cursor settings.
Thank you for your response.
I would appreciate it if you could let me know how you add them.
In the settings, click the “Add model” button and type in its name.
When I go and enter the OpenAI Key and activate it.
Add model and use o1-preview, I’m not using the API, but I’m being charged $0.4 from the cursor, so I can’t use the API?
For reference, this is OpenAI API Tier 3.
Now that I checked, I’ve been charged for the openAI API as well, so it’s a duplicate charge. I think it’s a bug.
Hey, are you sure this is a new charge? When your API key is enabled, all connections go through it. Could you double-check to ensure you weren’t charged while the API was active?
Apparently it happened at the same time.
I didn’t use O1 anywhere else.
I only made one request. For testing purposes
This is South Korea
Cursor billing is in Korea time
OpenAI API is in UTC USA
Hi, I have the same problem. I am a chatgpt pro user and my openai key has been properly validated. I can absolutely understand that companies need to make money for a living. However 40cts per o1 request and not being able to use my pro contingent of o1 requests feels like a rip off. Anybody who is using cursor extensively (like me 8-10h a day) knows how many requests to those models are going out per day. So no, I am not going to pay 30-40 usd extra per day for using the latest openai models. Is there a solution or do I need to switch back to vscode and use cline or cody ?
Thanks,
Lars
