Chat no responding after several min but ctrl-k works

After several mins not ask questions in the chat panel. It will get no responding no matter the model. And at the same time ctrl-k in editor or terminal works fine, just chat go into the infinitely generating. And my premium usage for advanced model has hundreds times left to request.

if restart the cursor. the chat will be fine for 2 - 3 question then again infinitely generating.

As you can see in the img. It will keep generating infinitely.

Same. For at least an hour now I can’t get agent to do anything. Ctrl+K works. It doesn’t seem to matter what model I use. I have restarted Cursor multiple times since in the past that has resolved the problem. Thanks

Also in the same boat. Cntrl + K works but the chat stalls infinitely in the generating stage. Have reinstalled twice.

Oddly the issue is only when using it on remote ssh.

On Mac and cursor version 0.46.11

BTW, downgrading to 0.45 did not resolve the problem for me. I’m still stuck

I do not know if whatever was going on is fixed or what, but I moved on to code something else, and now it is working. It may have been the prompt I was providing it. It has previously partially implemented and halted, so I was attempting to get it started back up. It never wood. Not reusing the previous prompt or even part of it, things seem to be now working. Very strange.

I just tried giving it the same prompt from before, which I have in a notepad, and it still is hanging. It seems to be the specific prompt.

Mine is completely broken. Starting a new chat doesnt fix it. I deleted the last chat that worked. Unsure what the issue is…

Hit the ‘+’ at the top to start a new chat - you prob have a very long chat history and is timing out (or something like that is causing the issue). save whatever you need to give context or messages that will help it get up to speed (new chat will start the agent fresh and no clue what you have done or want it to do)…

Thanks, but I tried “+”, restarting Cursor, restarting my computer, and downgrading Cursor.
This bug is not holding me up anymore since I moved on, but it does seem strange that attempting to use the prompt freezes agent.

no this isnt the issue and doesnt work

also tried this: Chat stopped working yesterday - #4 by JonasHagstrom79

and it didnt work

update: fixed it - deleted all cursor-server settings on the remote server where I was having issues
