Clarification on Agent Request Limits for Pro Plan

Hi everyone,

I’m new to Cursor and considering purchasing the Pro plan. I noticed that earlier it included 500 agent requests. Recently, I saw it listed as “unlimited agent requests,” and now today it’s showing as “extended agent requests.”

Can someone clarify how many agent requests are currently included in the Pro plan?

Thanks in advance!

I observe the same thing after seeing that I have already consumed 90% of my limit!

Previously, not so long ago, you can see clearly what the requests usage were in the web admin area, now it doesnt show any values and says unlimited, until some random point it breaks the generation midway and says you have run out and change to auto or need to upgrade. At least give some transparency on usage limits, so we don’t start a big change at the wrong time.

I bought it yearly plan couple days ago because I saw “unlimited usage”

Otherwise I would still using my ChatGPT as a coding assistance

What a change!

is that consider as a scam or false trade description?

It’s really bad now. Don’t buy it. I’ve used it 4 times and it has been restricted for further use. And it happened when I was halfway through modifying the code but it still wouldn’t run.

Yeah I guess they want us to switch to Auto so it doesn’t cost as much for them. I get the need to be profitable, but I hesitate to switch models between long stints. I only use claude sonnet 4 mainly, maybe it could switch to non-thinking from thinking if getting too overwhelmed.

Same thing for me, I paid for the whole year because of this unlimited agent request. Now its saying 90% Limit already used

where do you see the usage of your limit?

I’m seeing in within cursor when I’m trying to run a new request using agent

I tried auto but the quality isn’t quite there. It varies a lot. It might be fine for simpler tasks, but if you want the best output, you should know what model you’re using.

It could be better if we knew what is the model being used at the moment and then could tweakt the prompt for it / knew what to expect from the reply in order to adjust for it, if needed.

I was just about to make a post about the same issue.

I don’t get this new pricing model from Cursor at all. Things started to change a bit when they labeled it ‘unlimited’—which it really wasn’t. But now, I hit my daily limit after just 4 requests?! And half the requests are just to fix the mistakes it gives you in the first place.

I have a couple of questions:

1. When do the rate limits reset?
I understand there are two types of rate limits: a shorter-term one and another measured over several days. However, not having any visibility into how close I am to reaching these limits, or when they actually reset, is quite frustrating.

2. Are there any plans to implement any kind of visibility for rate limits?
It would be really helpful to have some way to see when I’m approaching the limits, or when they’ve expired and I can resume normal usage, or ideally, both.

It’s not that I dislike Cursor, but I’m hesitant to continue paying for a service when there’s so little transparency around these rate limits.

For now, I’ve purchased a $50 subscription to AugmentCode instead. I’ll probably use that until the rate limits are lifted for my account. The main issue is that I have no idea, and no way to check, when that will be.

I’m slowly starting to regret buying an annual subscription for Cursor :expressionless:

Good god, last month I spent many extended days developing and only ran out of quota on the 29th. This month I have spent two light days developing and ran out of my whole month’s quota mid-day on the 3rd! The value of Cursor just evaporated entirely!

Auto is faster and smarter than Gemini 2.5 Flash but it tries to complete the work and wait for the user to do as little work as possible.. So I’m really curious about the model under the hood. It looks like GPT-4.1, but I’m not sure.

So Pro plan clearly says “unlimited” but I was talking to support today about this, as I got the same issue and they told me that “unlimited usage is about Auto” (small print). However, I have noticed that much more detailed reporting of usage is available at the moment. Nevertheless, rate limits on Sonet are unrealistically low, forcing us to pay a higher rate.

I think everyone did hit the same issue - the lack of transparency is problematic. I would consider switching to the $60 or $200 plan but not if my quota will evaporate in a week.

absolute garbage move. looking for an alternative as this is literally false advertisement. this was the only selling point of cursor and they took it away. pure dogshit.

PSA: switch to the legacy pricing

We have to send an email to support - I got nice reply - hopefully it will filter up the chain.

If it’s from “Sam”, it’s just their automated AI reply bot sadly. I tried submitting bug reports that way, but no one answers when you ask to get directed to a real person. But yeah, I guess it won’t hurt.
