Claude-4-sonnet has been unresponsive for 2 days

MacOS 15.5. Cursor Version: 0.50.7.

Mostly, it just spins on “generating”.

A couple of times it’s said “network/vpn issues”, and I’ve restarted Cursor. I have no network/vpn issues.

Restarted Cursor, and started a new chat. Hit “send”, and it doesn’t even say “Generating” now :frowning:

Hey, it seems you’re adding a lot of context. Besides images, are you adding any other files? You should reduce the context and check again.

How’s this for simple… still a blank stare.

I’ve tried my other (very old OS) MacBook, same account, it works there. It’s like Cursor has twisted itself on my main laptop. Are there instructions for removing and reinstalling cursor and being able to pickup where I left off (same projects and chat history)?

No, if you reinstall Cursor, all your data, including chat history, will be lost. Try sending a request in the chat and check the DevTools panel for any errors.

Went from selecting “Agent” to “Manual”, and can get it hung “generating” with a simple question and no context

Please check the DevTools panel.

You mean devtools like when debugging a URL in a browser?

Clearing the console and restarting the simplequery:

I’ve already lost two days of work. It would be nice if there were a solution that didn’t include losing the last week of work.

But, currently, the Cursor chat is totally hung.

Note that other Cursor projects from thissame laptop are fine/usable. Just one project seems to be hosed.

I duplicated the environment, and fed-in the chat screenshots for the last few days, and it caught-up quickly and we’re hacking again
