Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Describe the Bug

Completion sounds were working a few days ago. Now they’re not (again). I’ve disabled, restarted, and reenabled per previous bug reports, but still no luck.

Any ideas how to fix?

Cursor should make sound on completion when Completion sound is enabled.

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey, this is a known issue. Sounds can sometimes “fall asleep” after updates.

Try this workaround:

  • Chat menu → “Open Composer as Editor”, then switch back, or use the CMD+D shortcut
  • Or switch between existing tabs in the AI Pane (don’t create a new one, just switch to one that’s already open)

This usually “wakes up” the notification system.

A couple questions to better understand the pattern:

  • Does this happen after every update, or only sometimes?
  • Do any other settings reset after updates (zoom level, theme)?

It actually just started working again without doing anything, so not sure what’s going on.
