Composer 2 extremely slow?

Composer 2 has been exceedingly slow to respond, write code, and execute shell commands for about an hour.

Anyone else with the same experience?

Hey, to check what’s going on, please send:

  • The Request ID from the slow request (top right of the chat > Copy Request ID)
  • Your Cursor version and OS
  • Does this happen only in one chat, or in new chats too

In the meantime, you can try:

  1. Cursor Settings > Network > Run Diagnostics to see if it’s network-related
  2. In App Settings Cmd/Ctrl+,, search for HTTP/2 and turn on Disable HTTP/2, then restart Cursor. This often helps with VPNs or corporate proxies.
  3. Start a new chat. If the current one is already long, the context might have grown and slowed down tool calls. See this related thread: Agent shell gets progressively slower, then eventually hangs

If it’s still slow after that, send the Request ID and we’ll take a deeper look.
