Hey everyone,
I’m reaching out because I’ve noticed a trend recently that’s really concerning, and I wanted to open a discussion about it. It seems that an increasing number of people have been using disposable or temporary email services to sign up for the free 500 requests on Cursor repeatedly. While I understand that offering a free tier can help attract new users and showcase what Cursor can do, the current situation feels unfair to those of us who are paying for the service.
As paid subscribers, we’re limited to 500 requests per period, while these temporary accounts keep circumventing the system to access the free requests without supporting Cursor financially. This devalues the experience for genuine paying customers who support the platform.
I believe there needs to be a discussion on how Cursor can address this. Whether it’s through more robust checks, stricter policies for free accounts, or even increasing the benefits for paying customers, something should be done to maintain fairness.
What do you all think? Have you noticed this trend, and do you have suggestions on how Cursor could tackle this?
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
