Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Describe the Bug

I disabled http2, switched to http1, VPN is not enabled, and it doesn’t work with VPN enabled either. I tried all the options.

Does this stop you from using Cursor

Yes - Cursor is unusable

Hey, thanks for the report. I see you already tried HTTP/2 → HTTP/1 and turning VPN off/on, and nothing worked.

Try this workaround (it helped another user with the exact same error):

  1. Rename the project folder in Finder (for example MyProjectMyProject_v2)
  2. Reopen it in Cursor

This resets a corrupted local index. Here’s a resolved thread with the same stack trace: Connection Error / Stalled Agent requests for hours - #9 by Fares_Bendhiab.

If that doesn’t help, I’ll need a bit more info:

  • Network Diagnostics: Cursor Settings > Network > Run Diagnostics (screenshot)
  • Console errors: Help > Toggle Developer Tools > Console (screenshot if you see any red errors)
  • Are you using a corporate VPN or firewall (Zscaler, McAfee, etc.)?
  • Your ISP and rough location?

The team is aware of this issue. Over the last couple of days, a few users reported the same stack trace. The diagnostics will help us find the root cause.

Let me know how it goes.

It seems to have helped.
