"Connection failed" error

Due to an error on the cursor server, I had to submit four requests to get a solution to a problem. Claude 4 sonnet-thinking is expensive, and even though I spent so many tokens, I received an interrupted and incomplete response.

I guarantee that my network is fine. In many requests, I did not receive the complete response from the AI model, yet I had to pay for cursor’s network error.

This issue previously existed in the Gemini 2.5 Pro model and is now occurring in the Claude model as well. Have you also encountered this situation?

hi @Aurora and thank you for your bug report.

As we do not see widespread connection issues this may still be likely on your side.

  • Is this occurring also in new chats or only on an existing chat? Please try a new chat.
  • Does changing network settings in Cursor app to HTTP/1.1 help? In some cases corporate networks, VPNs or internet provider settings may interfere with a standing connection we require to stream AI responses to your device.
  • Which model did you use when this occurred?
  • Did you use any MCP or custom API Key?
