I had this issue in last two hours at least 12 times (and I am counting). It is solved every time when I click New Chat, but the fact that I need to click New Chat means it is new request. And it is continuing doing the same thing, quite tedious manual convert X to Y. Using Sonnet 4, reading about how it can do things for 7 hours until it finishes, but can not really with Cursor. Still trying to narrow down what’s the deal and I am quite sure it has something with amount of (re)tries and context size, but feels in this moment this is purely designed to force another request being spent even when there is no sense doing it.

Here is the latest request ID: d407a5c1-adb1-4336-9927-47c4c8499dbf

The moment I click New Chat no issues with internet connection or anything. Giving it time and waiting to retry current session doesn’t work no matter what.

Since the latest updated to Cursor, I have the same issue for several days now. It renders the AI feature useless. I have disabled https/2, i have no MCP connections. It happens on all clients, not just Claude. I have no VPN on.

I am getting a new router, for unrelated reasons in the next few days.. maybe that will make a difference, i will report back but given the high and regularly occurring volumes of this issue it is not a network problem.

This is NOT A SOLUTION for me.

I just updated Cursor and have this issue…

I’m using a translation tool.

I had the same error, but after uninstalling Cursor and installing version 0.47.9, the AI function became available.
You can also use Cloud4.

In some cases the issue is due to firewall or dns configurations so I added google public dns 8.8.8.8 in my config file to fix this issue

I removed cursor, did a clean up but preserved the logs - re-installed and it fixed the problem.

I had noticed that the modified date after the latest update had changed to something like 01/01/1979. Not sure if this was because of something I did or not.

Command (Preserving Logs)

rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/Cursor
rm -rf ~/Library/Preferences/com.todesktop.230313mzl4w4u92.*
rm -rf ~/Library/Caches/Cursor
rm -rf ~/Library/Caches/com.todesktop.230313mzl4w4u92
rm -rf ~/Library/Saved\ Application\ State/com.todesktop.230313mzl4w4u92.savedState

Once I got back in - it prompted me to update. I didn’t.

Hi, I disable HTTP 2 but not solved.

This topic is not solved. I just installed cursor for the first time. Integrated gpt-4.1 with an api key. Wrote one line of code to write hello world. And now all I get is this error in my chat window. I’ve disabled http2, Ive rebooted, I’ve done everything obvious that’s easy to understand in this thread. Wth cursor.

I also installed Cursor for the first time.
The first prompt goes well.
But with the later on, I got the same issue.
I tried to disable HTTP2 as mentioned above.
It doesn’t resolve the issue.
Then I tried with Cloudflare Warp (with and without HTTP2), the issue is gone.

FIY, here’s brief info of my machine:
OS: ArchLinux
Cursor: cursor-bin_c74221ea5e6d2bc78a86744b712adefa.AppImage

still happening

I “solved” the issue by clicking on Clear All Chats

SOLVED - I had this problem for a week and tried everything on this thread. I uninstalled and reinstalled the program and everything is working again!!

yes,work for me

Clearing all the chats worked for me as well

Same issue here after updating to 0.47.5 — constant connection errors on macOS (M1). Tried restart, cache clear, logout/login… no luck. As a temp workaround, I used a xnxubd vpn browser online proxy to test if it was a network-related issue, and oddly, the app connects through that. Not ideal, but might help others until there’s a proper fix.

I have not been able to connect to AI panel since stopped working in middle of session last evening. It worked fine with base set up HTTP2, etc., but then stopped and everything I have tried hasn’t worked (change HTTP, log out/log in, restart computer, etc.)

This is the error in AI panel after i enter a prompt:

Connection failed. If the problem persists, please check your internet connection or VPN
