Conversation too long issue since last patch?

Describe the Bug

Bug: Your conversation is too long. Please try creating a new conversation or shortening your messages by using the agent chat – the issue is when the IDE is changing code then it breaks up in the middle of the process which cause problems because you have to open a new chat and “must hope” that the context is not lost.

Steps to Reproduce

Just use Cursor Agent (chat).

Expected Behavior

Breaks up middle of codechange.

Operating System

Windows 10/11

Current Cursor Version (Menu → About Cursor → Copy)

Latest Cursor Version.

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Please provide more information so we can determine the cause of issues you see.

  • Full Cursor version, with details shown: Help > About
  • Which model are you using?
  • Do you have any API key setup?
  • Are any MCPs configured?
  • Have you attached any files or rules to the Chat manually?
  • Please check if the issue occurs also in a new project.

Hi Condor – you can ignore my reporting since the latest updates/patch it never happend again.
