Cursor AI Chat - not responding, stuck on 3 dots

My cursor chat and composer do not generate a response anymore, they get stuck in generating a response with the three dots continuously loading,

I found this discussion from the forum relating to the issue, but after clearing the cache I still run into the same thing.

Some context: I started running into this issue after upgrading from Windows 10 to 11. In addition, the following updates occurred:

I’ve tried several models and have also tried closing the application and reopening as well as restarting my computer.

Nothing works. The app is effectively rendered back to VSCode until this is solved.

Chat and Composer no longer work.

I was able to fix this issue following instruction below

The error I got in the developer console was Error: No Connect transport provider registered.
