Last time Cursor prompted me to update to 0.34 and updated successfully after that. I see a 0.34.2 patch has been released, but Cursor doesn’t prompt for an update, and even “Attempt Update” isn’t working. Ubuntu.
I have the same problem on Mac. Running “Attempt Update” does nothing; I wish it would at least tell me whether an update is available, even if it fails to install.
I have resorted to bookmarking the Cursor Changelog page and checking it every so often. I’ve entered my email address on that page but I never receive emails.
Same issue on Mac
It did update for me finally
Happened for me today - was on 0.38.1 and did not get update notification for 0.39 which went live yesterday. Manually updated.
ps the new composer control panel is great.
Just sharing, I also don’t get updates in Cursor, and I don’t seem to receive email updates from the changelog page:
I still don’t get email updates about new releases.
I have signed up 3-4 times at https://changelog.cursor.sh .
And I still don’t get updates in Cursor.
Ctrl
+ Shift
+ P
(command palette) and selecting Cursor: Attempt Update
does nothing.
I need to go to cursor.com and click the Download
button to see if there is a new version available.
