I get information about update available, but there is no information what kind of update it is

I use following version

Version: 2.3.34
VSCode Version: 1.105.1
Commit: 643ba67cd252e2888e296dd0cf34a0c5d7625b90
Date: 2026-01-10T21:17:10.428Z
Electron: 37.7.0
Chromium: 138.0.7204.251
Node.js: 22.20.0
V8: 13.8.258.32-electron.0
OS: Linux x64 5.15.0-139-generic

Recently Cursor started to inform me about new update available. I can’t not see any information on announcements. I checked the download section on website and there is only information that current version is 2.3 with following link: https://api2.cursor.sh/updates/download/golden/linux-x64/cursor/2.3

So what’s this update about? I think that you should also include the patch version, because now I’m really confused. What’s more there is no changelog for this update so I do no know what will be updated to what etc.

Hey, thanks for the feedback.

The changelog is published on Changelog · Cursor, so you can check what’s included in a release there. But I agree a direct link in the update notification would be more convenient. That’s a common request, and the team is aware of it.

Updates roll out in stages (staged rollout), so sometimes the notification arrives before the changelog is published on the site. Usually the gap is 1 to 3 days.

So this is a CLI update. Thanks. I was not aware of that.
