Cursor Editor Shows Black Screen on Startup Need Help

Hi Everyone,

I recently installed Cursor AI-powered code editor on my Windows 11 system, but when I launch the application, all I see is a black screen with no UI elements loading. The menu bar is visible, but the editor itself remains unresponsive.

I have tried restarting my computer, reinstalling Cursor, and launching it with the disable gpu flag, but the issue persists. My system meets all the requirements, and other code editors (like VS Code) are working fine.

Has anyone else encountered this issue? Could this be related to GPU acceleration, corrupted settings, or an issue with a recent update Any troubleshooting tips would be greatly appreciated.

Same issue here since i installed the last version…

I meet the same problem right now . Do you solved it ?

Hello @user616 nope, i try to desinstall the program but it does the same…i’m on version 25.9.1 from amd…

Hey, yes, here are the steps i followed:

  1. Clear Cursor app data:

    • Press Win + R, type %APPDATA% and delete the Cursor folder

    • Press Win + R, type %LOCALAPPDATA% and delete the Cursor folder (in the “Programs” folder)

    • Reinstall from Download · Cursor

  2. Update your Intel iGPU drivers

  3. launch from Command Prompt with:
    cursor --disable-gpu --disable-software-rasterizer

After these steps, i’m now allowed to use the app freely, without the CLI to start it…

Oh , no . cursor --disable-gpu --disable-software-rasterizer still not work with me . Bad luck to me .

Hey maybe the problem came again today!!!
