Cursor hanging/crashing often after latest update 0.44.11

Hey folks, after updating Cursor to the latest version, I’m now having frequent instances in which it will appear to slow down my system, causing my MacBook Pro fans to run at high speed and then develop typing lag in the editor. After doing this for about 10 minutes, it will then crash. Here is the version I’m running:

VSCode Version: 1.93.1
Commit: fe574d0820377383143b2ea26aa6ae28b3425220
Date: 2025-01-03T07:59:06.361Z
Electron: 30.5.1
Chromium: 124.0.6367.243
Node.js: 20.16.0
V8: 12.4.254.20-electron.0
OS: Darwin x64 21.6.0

I’m on Mac Monterey 12.7.6. Anyone else having these issues? Thanks in advance for any insight!

Hey, try booting into safe mode using this command: cursor --disable-extensions. Enter it in your terminal and see if Cursor behaves the same way.
