Does this stop you from using Cursor

Yes - Cursor is unusable

Hey, thanks for the report. This is a known connection issue that already has several proven fixes.

Please try the following steps:

Disable HTTP/2 (most common fix):

  • Open App Settings Ctrl+,
  • Search for “HTTP/2”
  • Enable “Disable HTTP/2”
  • Restart Cursor

This helps users on networks with partial HTTP/2 support.

Check MCP servers (if configured):

  • Cursor has a limit of 80 tools
  • Disable MCP servers you’re not actively using in Cursor Settings
  • Several users have confirmed this fixed their intermittent connection errors

Try starting a new chat:

  • Sometimes creating a fresh chat resolves temporary connection issues

Check Windows Firewall:

  • The updated app may need to be re-approved for internet access

Most users report that disabling HTTP/2 fixes the issue right away. If the problem is still there after these steps, please share your Request ID from the error message and the results from Cursor Settings → Network → Run Diagnostics.
