Please try the following steps:
Disable HTTP/2 (most common fix):
Open App Settings Ctrl+,
Search for “HTTP/2”
Enable “Disable HTTP/2”
Restart Cursor
This helps users on networks with partial HTTP/2 support.
Check MCP servers (if configured):
Cursor has a limit of 80 tools
Disable MCP servers you’re not actively using in Cursor Settings
Several users have confirmed this fixed their intermittent connection errors
Try starting a new chat:
Sometimes creating a fresh chat resolves temporary connection issues
Check Windows Firewall:
The updated app may need to be re-approved for internet access
