Cursor IDE UI/UX Design Tweaks #8: Surface Service Incidents Directly in the IDE

Live incidents updates are easier to find on the Forum and Status page, but they’re less visible while working inside Cursor

Having a Service Status / Incidents indicator in the IDE would help users understand what happened and why a feature may not be working, in real time.

Adding a section between About and Updates would be great

It could also prevent delayed reports(I have read alot of those ones) users may go to the Forum to report an issue, only to find that the incident has already been identified and fixed.

A lightweight severity indicator + latest incident update inside the IDE would make the experience much more transparent and reduce unnecessary troubleshooting and duplicate reports.

based on how huge impact the incident causes color indicator , a small color-coded status dot near the Cursor logo could work well as a subtle affordance, it would give users immediate awareness without disrupting their workflow, while clicking it could reveal the incident details and latest updates.

here is small mockup for placement and better clarity on surfacing service incident

While its great we get latest updates regarding any service down details on status page and forum adding a indicator on both agents and IDE would be better to know why certain feature wont work at its optimum instead of reporting on forum later.
