Does this stop you from using Cursor

Sometimes - I can sometimes use Cursor

Hey, could you provide more details on what’s happening? Is the Cursor window crashing? Do you see any errors? Also, try booting in safe mode using this command in the terminal: cursor --disable-extensions. Please also share screenshots of the Task Manager and Process Explorer.

Hi Deanrie
I hope you are well.

What happens:

Cursor just closes, and the active window is gone. I have to reopen Cursor.

This does not happen every time, but it is very frequent.

Sometimes it closes while idle, sometimes when I am busy typing a prompt, sometimes when it is working.

No error message, nothing. Just gone.

booting in safe mode

I will try this today and let you know.

Share screenshots of the Task Manager and Process Explorer.

When, after Cursor disappeared?

The issue might be with the SpecStory extension.

@NICO_BOTHA SpecStory developer here :waving_hand:

Please let us know if running for an extended period (a day or two) without the SpecStory extension eliminates the problem. We do everything we can to keep SpecStory working on all platforms and on new versions of Cursor, so we would fix it right away if it’s the root of your crashes.
