Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?
Cursor IDE
Describe the Bug
I love cursor.
What i don’t love is how it’s currently configured to select whatever model it wants, based on it’s “last used” status.
I enabled Fable 5.1 last week. I didn’t use it.
I fired up a new chat, typed my prompt, and realized it’s using Fable - a VERY expensive model.
The Agent model default should have the option of locking to a specific model.
There should be a option in settings to set a IDE wide model.
Maybe i don’t understand. Maybe i just don’t get it.
Maybe my 25 years of system administration is getting in the way.
But what i do get, is setting the last used or cursor default for it to be ignored costs real money.
I left Anthropic and XAI for this reason.
Steps to Reproduce
disable all but the model you want.
Start new chat, chooses whatever model it feels appropriate.
Nothing set on auto.
Expected Behavior
Stick to the model i choose.
Operating System
MacOS
