Cursor not working after installing an update

Hi, very new Cursor user here, so be gentle please.

I’ve only been using Cursor for a few weeks on a Pro licence.About half an hour ago (20th of April 1600 BST) Cursor requested an update, so I click the “Yes, please”.Since then I’ve not been able to run it despite having completely quit out of the system, restarted, closed the workspace and re-opened it.

Is there a known fault, please, or what can I do?

Same for me. I just “attempted” to install the update. Now my Cursor executable can’t be found, and the update wouldn’t complete because it said it was already running. I checked all processes and services, and nothing was running. When I Cancelled the update process, I tried to open Cursor again, and it’s just gone from my system. I think I’ll have to download application fresh …unfortunately, I think this means I will lose all of setup configurations. Maybe someone at Cursor will respond before I re-install, but…this seems like a pretty huge bug. Ultra Plan user here.

I WAS able to just download Cursor from the website and do a fresh install, and all my settings, MCP, chat history, etc are there. Seems the executable files are separate from the settings (which worked out for the best). Wishing you the best on your situation.
