Cursor > Plan and Usage Settings Page

Hi guys,

I’ve just seen the new billing page - maybe its been there for a while, apologies if so.

Before I assumed there was just 1 number (i.e. total usage of X%). I knew intuitively that if it was coming towards the end of the month, I needed to start using Auto as the number would go up slower.

There are now 3 numbers - could you provide some clarification as to how they’re calculated. What would happen if I were to use 100% of the API usage e.g. Composer-1 - would I be left with X% of the Auto model still to use?

Im sure there were good intentions behind this but seeing more numbers and figures confuses me.

For example, if I just used Composer-1 until it ramped up all the way to 100% for the API progress bar. Does that mean I still have access to the Auto model?

Thanks Pete

There is a good chance I’m wrong - but I do vaguely remember the % shown under the chat being the same whether I’m using the Auto model or a better model like Composer-1 when switching between either one

Hey @Peter_Cox good question. There are actually two separate pools:

API (includes $400) gets used when you pick a specific named model like Composer-1, Claude, GPT, etc.

Auto (bonus pool) is a separate quota. When that bonus runs out, Auto starts using your API quota.

So to answer your question directly, yes. If you’re using Composer-1 while your API bar hasn’t hit 100% yet, you’ll still have your Auto bonus left. And the other way around too.

Total (3%) is just an overall view of your plan usage that combines both pools.

Let me know if that clears things up.
