CURSOR premium limitations

First of all, I want to sincerely thank the Cursor team for giving people with ideas but no coding knowledge the opportunity to develop their projects. Of course, we shouldn’t forget the Claude team either.

I’ve been experimenting and trying different things for a while. As of yesterday, I decided to purchase a premium subscription because I finally understood how the system works. However, I noticed that the monthly command limit for premium users is capped at 500, which made me pause and think if this would be sufficient. Honestly, I’m not sure how it will turn out, but I wanted to give it a try.

That said, I find this limit somewhat unreasonable for a premium subscription. Especially considering that we can’t fully utilize the features offered by Claude within Cursor. I’ve tried both Claude Premium and Cursor Premium, and in my experience, the code generated by Claude’s native system is more advanced compared to what Cursor produces. Cursor’s output seems relatively simpler in comparison.

Despite these observations, having a limit for premium users is disappointing. A more reasonable limit would be at least 1,000 or higher. Offering 500 commands in the premium plan—only 250 more than the free version’s 250-command limit—feels a bit underwhelming. While I understand that premium comes with additional features and that I use fewer commands due to those features, the limit still feels too low.

These are my thoughts on the matter—what do you think?

You have unlimited slow queries which run as fast as the fast one these days. I must have used 2000 last month. That’s a none issue.

Just to be clear, the 250 request limit that you saw on the free trial is only a trial and would expire after two weeks - the free tier has significantly lower limits than this.

Well, you do have 500 fast requests, which means your requests are answered instantly. As Debian above said, you have unlimited slow requests. This means that at periods of high traffic, your requests may be queued with others. But after our recent upgrade of the slow infrastructure, most users never see a queue, or if they do, it’s only for a few seconds.

We offer this limit at this price to ensure all users have access to Cursor, but you can always pay more to get more fast requests if you’re finding the queue for slow requests to be too long.
