Updated Cursor (0.45.15) on Windows 10 and suddenly any message in Composer says Generating… and then Stopped.
Is this an issue with the latest version? I cannot seem to get it to work no matter what I do.

yeah i have this same issue im on 0.45.15 as well
I’m running intio this as well. I was using it with claude 3.7 all day without issue, until a couple hours ago. Every request will get about half-way thru and then fail. Failing with both claude-3.7-sonnet-thinking and non-thinking.
Updated to 0.45.17 and same issue.
I have exactly the same problem,it’s very frustrating
Same thing here, I have been fighting the bad update deal all day, and Every request I make it starts working then stops. I’m scared to look and see how many tokens that all cost me - This cursor thing isn’t a very pleasant experience lately!
Having the same issue as well !!
Looks like this is only happening on my current project. I tried creating a new project/folder and it all seems to be working now. I don’t want to lose all my progress, but I think I will reset Cursor for my current project to get this working again. Seems to be the only solution at the moment.
Also I have noticed that WHEN it’s working cursor generates bad quality code. He forgets the context he said he went for in the agent chat. Often generates code which is not even related to any projects I’m working on!
With composer open, try clicking on the little plus sign to create a New Composer. That’s what worked for me.
Experiencing the same thing now and then throughout today. It actually seems like Cursor is thinking I’m clicking into the previous message in the chat, which then stops the response as Claude is generating it (happens even if I’m not touching the mouse, so can’t be a misclick).
I haven’t done too much testing with this theory, but it seems to be a claude 3.7 issue. I was running into the same issue when I was using the claude 3.7 model, but once I switched over to the claude 3.5 model, it seems to be working like it once did. Maybe not up to the standards it was once at, but I stopped receiving the same “Stopped” error you are getting.
Update:
Switching to Claude 3.5 worked temporarily, but after a few hours of back and forth, it seems to have reverted to prompting me with “Stopped”. It’s gotten to the case where Cursor is not even usable… at least when using claude. Any updates?
Same here, yesterday it completely crashed. I’ve tried everything, uninstall Cursor-0.46.8, install the previous Cursor-0.45.14, use Claude 3.5, 3.7 even GPT, open a new composer… Nothing works. It aborts the process and at the bottom in red it says stopped. And the worst of all is that it keeps counting as fast request quota.
I have the exact same issue since yesterday, it says Stopped. and use my fast credits as well… any one please help?
Hi did you fix the problem? I got the same error in 4.5 sonnet and 4.7…
I had the same issue where Claude Sonnet 3.7 couldn’t progress past a certain point, and kept on stopping. I was able to get past it by switching to GPT-4o for that update, and then switching back to Claude Sonnet 3.7 to refine things.
So far, Claude Sonnet 3.7 is back to working for me.
