Cursor selecting Models which are available but turned off manually

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Describe the Bug

I had manually disabled all the model except composer 2.5, but when i open a new chat window , grok 4.6 gets selected.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Have access to various models
  2. In models page disable all models except composer 2.5.
  3. Open a new chat window.

Expected Behavior

when opening a new chat window as composer 2.5 was the model enabled, it should have selected that

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey @Durgesh_Kumar, thanks for the report!

Your version (3.6.31) is from before we shipped improvements here: newer builds respect your disabled models for these automatic switches, and add an opt-out. Please update Cursor to the latest version (3.17), then set Settings → Agents → Conversation → Default Model to “Last Used” so new chats always keep the model you last picked.
