I don’t see custom modes at all. On the Beta branch, 0.48.6.
Can we force re-install?
Tabbed Chat in windows is not working - same as old way for me. .48.6
NVM, after a reboot, this option appeared
I have 2 windows machines using the same cursor account.. tabbed chat is working on 1 as soon as i upgraded to 0.48.2 i think it was .2.. on .6 now.
on my other windows machine, it still doesnt have tabbed chat, also on 0.48.6 now. on this machine, i deleted the user directory folders/etc for cursor and it didnt help get the tabs working, but did reset all my settings so i know that did reset some stuff.. I have not done a full uninstall/reinstall yet (would rather not unless that is confirmed to work)
havnt emailed support yet.
Devcontainers stop working (0.48.6), it gets stuck on “Opening Remote…”
It works for me. Hold down ALT + press the + button in the toolbar to add a new chat (as usual) and will create a tabbed chat.
custom modes can’t enable All tools
I use an claude api proxy, the model name is cursor-3-7-sonnet-20250219, when I create an mode use this model, cursor only show auto-run and auto-fix errors.
I’m sure that this model is the same as the original Claude, and I hope Cursor will loosen the restrictions for non standard model name.
Are the sounds working for other people? They used to work but aren’t working anymore. I updated the sound from cmd + shift + p as well.
Any updates on this?

Fwiw I can get chat tabs by pressuring cmd+t but NOT by pressing the new tab button.
@HunterJayVow This is the gotcha key binding that had me thinking initially that they got rid of the tabs. They need to make this more obvious and consistent.
I think the multiple tabs feature is pretty good. I look forward to your faster iteration and more useful features.
Why i have update to latest version
Version: 0.48.9 (Universal)
VSCode Version: 1.96.2
But it dont update new feature above chat tabs, custom models, and sounds. How to fix it to have new feature above .
You have to enable it in the Features
hover the plus button, it shows you to click alt (or option on mac) to open the new tab
This solved it for me. Thanks!
It’d be nice if chat tabs were a different setting than "workbench.activityBar.location"
, if possible. I prefer to not see the default, left-hand VSCode activity bar and usually keep it hidden–less visual noise, more screenspace.
