The team has once again been cooking and we’ve got some great changes coming in Cursor v0.48! Here’s what’s new in Cursor v0.48:
Cursor v0.48 is now available to Early Access users and will be rolling out over the next few days to all Standard release users!
Custom Modes (Beta)
In v0.46, you can now create your own modes, choose the tools, settings, custom instructions, and even set the specific model for that mode to give you complete control over how you want to work!
Chat Tabs
Many of our users liked being able to work in the Chat and the Composer at the same time, and in v0.46, we took that away! Now, with Chat Tabs, you can have multiple Chats running in parallel and change between them in one click!
Sound Notifications (Beta)
Once the chat has completed, you can now enable a tone to play, so you can work on other things and know when the Chat has finished!
Context Window Warnings
Cursor will now show a small prompt to suggest you start a new chat session when you approach the maximum context window size! If you choose to continue, your oldest messages will be summarised to keep the chat going.
Usage Pricing Visibility
You can now see how much each chat has cost when using usage-based pricing directly in the editor! Just open the window showing your chat history, and hover the $ symbol to see the details.
More Changes
We have many more improvements and changes too, such as better MCP support on Windows, indexing improvements for teams sharing codebases and more!
