would it be possible to also have a sound and/or notification when there is a command that we have to accept/deny ? so that when you run a query and go to another tab or window you come back to accept it
Notification does that.
They kept adding more features, but bugs spanning multiple versions just weren’t fixed
This has been added. Sound and Native notification.
You can turn it on in Settings → General → Notifications.
oh didn’t see that! turns out the problem is that if I have notifications off on mac settings, the sound of the completion works though, but not of the agent needs attention, the agent needs attention only sounds with the notification, I was expecting same behavior
also now that I have activated it, it would be nice that when clicked on the notification it opens the corresponding screen (i had several desktop with cursor and the notification was from another project and it didn’t open that one, it stayed on the current one since I was already on the cursor app)
The behavior of a notification is based on the OS and not controllable from the notification call.
- I really like the toast notification, it is a game changer honestly. The agent has started to make sounds after each task when they aren’t actually done, so even sound isn’t useful any more, so the toast actually gets my attention when I’m over doing something else!
- Is this the thread to discuss Sonic? If not where? Because trying to get feedback from Sonic is like pulling teeth. I literally have to yell at it to stop and give me a report of what it is doing, planning, if it’s blocked, if it was able to do the thing. For someone who just wants a gopher to shut up and do something so they can review it themselves, that’s probably perfect, but I actually prefer Auto’s behavior which I can instruct to dial down, to Sonic who communicates with me about as well as my teenager wearing headphones.
@mwjt42 / @troehrkasse
what’s weird is i can drag and drop .txt files from windows explorer into to the chat window. but if i try anything else (.sql files, .pdf files, etc) , it doesn’t work.
i’m on cursor enterprise
Thank you guys for ignoring every my message about one button, you are the best.
why in the world is it sending me a ding for every single message? how about sending me a ding when it gets stuck or when it’s done. I don’t need to hear a ding for each one!
Have to say, I am honestly very frustrated by the forced upgrade to 1.5.5 today. I did NOT want to upgrade to 1.5.x because of all the bugs. I was updated anyway, and now I have a severe terminal bug that I’ve reported in the Bug Reports section. Terminal commands WILL NOT continue on their own. They execute, and succeed or fail, the agent hangs. What I’ve discovered is you have to open the agent’s terminal instance, and manually hit return after every command completes. That then seems to spur the agent on to actually continue.
I am now having to BABYSIT every single chat, to keep them moving, because there are LOTS of terminal commands, and the agent hangs at 100% of them. This is a SEVERE bug!
I also need to double down, on just how UNHAPPY I am that I was force upgraded to 1.5.5 without having a choice. I knew 1.5.x was buggy, and I’ve purposely NOT been upgrading. I closed every popup that appeared asking me to upgrade. Cursor hung and crashed earlier today, and I believe that was when I was upgraded. REALLY TICKS ME OFF. Because now I am having to deal with a severe bug.
Is there any way to roll back? I do not want to be on 1.5.x, at all, for any reason. It is clearly very buggy, it was NOT ready for release, and I cannot be sitting here babysitting every chat all day long like this. Its unacceptable. @condor
This is probably because of a bug report I filed. I was never getting any competion chimes at all, except when the chat was in the background (not the active tab.) So they probably fixed (or tried to fix…I am sitll not getting any chimes at chat completion.)
I DID, however, request that they make it configurable. ![]()
Additionally. Since the FORCED upgrade, the connection stability in the agent has plummeted. I am receiving constant connection failed errors. I’ve checked my connection. Its 900MB/s+ and rock stolid stable on multiple pings all over the country. Its not my network.
This release has been a disaster. It is having a MEASURABLE impact on my velocity, which has crawled to nearly zero today.
Please, is there a way to roll back to 1.4.5? I cannot be dealing with a broken IDE right now.
Cursor download links to all versions on all platforms. Just install.
Thank you! You are a lifesaver! ![]()
each time i write a ■■■■■■■ prompt the IDE is adding entire file to this ■■■■■■■ prompt. WHY THA ■■■■ WHY!!!
And where is the money count! why did you eliminate it!? AND DA ■■■■ WHEN YOU GONNA GIVE TOKEN COUNT!? Windsurf has it! why you are worse!?
For now i just want uninstall button to each new version because it just getting worse and worse
I still have usage count. It’s still here. You can turn it to always on in settings, otherwise it will be displayed when it’s almost filled.
Token count also is there, open your eyes.
And for the auto-attachment of the current opened file - you can just tick it off, ya know? There also used to be a setting to turn it off completely so it won’t auto-attach it ever, but they seem to remove it, idk why…
Cursor does not add entire files to the prompt by default. The “active tab” chip just provides a small amount of context of what file is open.
