UPDATE: I finally got through to a human at Cursor Billing. Here is their full response:
Hi John,
Thanks for waiting, and sorry the help page still made SuperGrok Heavy look like it included a Cursor Ultra plan.
I do not have a published cutoff date, time, or announcement I can quote, and there is no public notice or terms page I can point you to for that older setup.
What I can confirm is how a new SuperGrok Heavy link works now. It adds Grok Bot access while SuperGrok Heavy stays active. It does not create a Cursor Ultra plan, and it does not change your existing Cursor plan. That is based on the link itself, not on a purchase-date promotion I can publish.
I checked your Cursor account. There is no Cursor Ultra plan, and there is no $300 SuperGrok Heavy charge on Cursor billing. That $300 was billed by xAI, so Cursor cannot refund it.
The help page was behind. That is on us, and I am sorry it still described Ultra as included when you bought. We still cannot add Cursor Ultra from this SuperGrok Heavy link.
If you want Ultra on Cursor, that would be a separate Cursor plan from Billing.
Best,
Niño Jade C.

So there it is, directly from Cursor Billing.
Cursor is acknowledging that their own help page still described Cursor Ultra as included with SuperGrok Heavy when I made my $300 purchase.
They’re also saying they cannot provide a published cutoff date, time, announcement, public notice, or terms page showing when this offer supposedly ended.
Think about how ridiculous that is from a customer’s perspective.
The offer is publicly advertised. I pay $300 while that offer is still live. Ultra doesn’t activate. I’m then told the promotion had already ended, despite Cursor’s own website still telling customers it was included. There apparently wasn’t a published cutoff or announcement customers could have seen. Cursor then acknowledges that its documentation was wrong when I purchased, but the proposed solution is essentially: sorry, if you still want Ultra, buy that separately too.
How exactly was I supposed to know the promotion had ended?
Customers cannot be expected to know about an internal policy change that hasn’t been communicated while the company’s own website is still advertising the previous offer.
If Cursor wanted to end the promotion, that’s completely reasonable. Remove the offer, establish a cutoff, and purchases made afterward don’t qualify.
But anyone who purchased SuperGrok Heavy while Cursor was still advertising Cursor Ultra as included should be grandfathered into the offer that was presented at the time of purchase.
I upgraded to the $300 SuperGrok Heavy plan specifically because the included Cursor Ultra access made the economics worthwhile. Had Cursor’s page said that Heavy only included Grok Bot access and that Ultra would cost another $200 separately, I would not have made that purchase.
I’m still giving Cursor the opportunity to make this right, but telling customers that the advertised benefit wasn’t actually available, admitting the documentation was wrong when they purchased, and then asking them to pay separately for that same benefit is not an acceptable resolution.
